I really like the idea of one on one attention. I think that children need more one on one attention, they can learn more in less time instead of a huge class of 30 kids with very little one on one time. I love how they were able to help all these kids, and that the kids were willing to go see these tutors and get the help they need. I think that this is such an amazing cause because some kids would never be able to receive this type of education in just a normal public school.
It is amazing how hard these kids would work to get their work published. They were so happy that their hard work was being shown to outside sources. I also think it is cool how the pirate shop became a success because of the children's books being sold their. I bet that it would be so amazing to walk in to this gag store became a place where the public could have a positive and educational outlet.
I think that there needs to be more of this kind of one on one attention outside of the school system. This is such great proof that kids can do so many great things if they are just given the recourse's that they need to succeed. Kids can be so brilliant, and people need to realize that, This organization is working on a great cause and they are helping kids to be successful in English for the rest of their life.
When he was giving his TED talk you could tell that he is very passionate about helping kids in English. He is obviously not a a professional public speaker. I could tell that he was very nervous because he would fidget throughout his whole TED talk. But once he got started talking he looked less nervous and got more into what he wanted the audience to receive through his talk.
